Street Piano, Pasadena, CA (Viva La Vida)May 19, 2012
I was visiting Pasadena from Arizona for one day only and had my fair share of choices for things to do. I chose the Huntington, a Coldplay concert, and to play one song on a street piano. They were being auctioned off the day after we were there, so it is just a stroke of luck that the concert was on that day. Plus at The Huntington, the Japanese garden (the MAIN thing that I wanted to see, is only opened on Wednesdays. So we searched and searched up and down Colorado BLVD not knowing the area very well. I finally recognized the Vroman's bookstore on one of the corners. So we parked a little ways away and walked to the piano only to see a big line of people waiting to play. I had only 15 minutes until we were supposed to be at the park and ride for the Hollywood Bowl, so I had to ask permission to cut the line for one little song and this is what I got out of it. I had an absolute blast and I wish they had street pianos here in Tucson. Or in my house even :) The track I am playing around with is Viva La Vida by Coldplay.
